Fleas are small (1.5 to 3.3mm long) wingless insects mouth parts that are adapted to feeding on blood from their hosts. The flea can jump up to 7 inches vertically and 13 inches horizontally. This makes them one of the best jumpers of all known animals (in comparison to body size).
They also have adapted a very tough body that will withstand great pressures, likely to survive attempts from scratching.
