Although there are many spieces of flies, the most common is the "housefly". It is one of the most widely distributed insects, found all over the world.
Houseflies feed on feces, open sores, sputum, and moist decaying matter such as spoiled food, eggs, and flesh. Houseflies can only eat liquid foods, they spit out saliva on solid foods to predigest it, and then suck it back it. They also regurgitate partly digested matter and pass it again to the abdomen.
Did you know that a "maggot" is a fly? Maggot is a common name for the larval phase of the fly. Within a day of a fly laying an egg "maggots" will hatch. They will live for a week then crawl to a dry cool place and transform to pupae, and then later the flies emerge from the pupae.
We have many treatment options available for flies for residential as well as commercial (restraunts, hospitals, lodging, etc.) Please call or email our office to see which option is available for you.
