The secret to pest control in 10 words or less...

Posted on Jan 28, 2013

I have been in the "bug" industry my entire life. I started in the summers in 1994, but I was roaming my dad's office all the way back to 1982. Those of you that don't know me, that puts me at two years old. That's 30 years around the bug business. I would say I have a little experience under my belt.

If you're reading this, you're expecting to hear (or read) the secret to pest control. I have it, and it's only taken me 30 years to figure it out.  Now, I'm going to pass it on to you. "To BEAT the bug, you have to BE the bug" Now, you may think that sounds like hippie bug guy talk but, it's true and it's easy, let me explain.

Lets compare bugs to you. If you are hungry, what do you do? You eat! If you're thirsty? You drink! If it's cold outside, you will find a warm spot and cozy up. If you're house was flooding, wouldn't you take your family to higher ground no matter what? Of course you would and so would I.

Living by "To Beat the bug, you have to Be the bug" you will need to look for 3 things. Food, water and entry points. If you leave food out, you will absolutely find yourself with an ant or even worse a roach problem. "Food" could range from dropped food, to dog food, to grease in your oven.  Water that is left out will also attract bugs. "Water" could be any liquid spilled, a leaky faucet, or condensation on water lines.  The last thing is entry points.  Although some roaches are brought in on your person or by personal things, most bugs come from the outside. So whether or not, they are coming in for the food, the water, or the shelter, they are still COMING IN.. So that means they have to find a way inside through entry points. A few examples of entry points would be; Cracks around doors/windows, dryer vents, electrical outlets, water spigots, attic vents, etc...

When I'm going on an initial inspection, I take my 30 years experience and I apply my top secret method of "being the bug" and that is what makes me so successful in getting rid of your bugs and that is what can make you successful too!
